Religious sites

Churches, shrines and places of pilgrimage in Trentino, Pinè and Cembra Valley

Our landscape is criss-crossed by trails to religious sites containing masterpieces of sacred art: some of these places of worship are in remote, remarkably quiet spots; others are located inside mountain hamlets or villages, but they all have in common a distinctive atmosphere which is very conducive to spirituality.
There are small churches, but also pilgrimage sites that have, over time, become important focuses of religious devotion, and finally routes that let you (re-)discover places of natural, artistic and religious beauty from the perspective of the pilgrims of old.
On the Altopiano di Piné, there are the Madonna di Piné sanctuary (Trentino's most important site of Marian worship), the small church of San Mauro, and the parish church of Santa Assunta.
In Valle di Cembra, let's mention the Madonna dell’Aiuto sanctuary above Segonzano, dedicated to Mary Help of Christians, and the small church of San Pietro in the village of Cembra itself; in the area bordering on the southeastern side of Lower Valle di Cembra, the small church of Santo Stefano in the hamlet of the same name just outside Fornace and the impressive church of Santa Maria Assunta in Civezzano.
