The route begins at Canezza, just a few kilometres from the outskirts of Pergine. Here there is a turning onto the provincial road no. 8 which climbs the right orographic slope of the Valle dei Mocheni. Right from the very beginning the going is pretty tough, with regular but steep hills, and long stretches where there is little or no respite. The last stretch up to Passo Redebus (the left turning just before the town of Sant’Orsola), is especially gruelling.
